What size engines can the Oricom JSP2000 jump start?
The JSP2000 is designed to jump start petrol engines up to 8L and diesel engines up to 6L. It is compatible with 12V lead-acid batteries only — it should not be used on any other battery type or voltage.
How do I know if my jump starter is connected correctly to the battery?
The smart clamp module gives you a clear visual signal. A green LED means the connection is correct and the vehicle is ready to start. A red LED means either the polarity is reversed (clamps on the wrong terminals) or the JSP2000 doesn't have enough charge — check your connections or recharge the unit before trying again.
How many times can I attempt to start my car before I risk damaging the JSP2000?
Each cranking attempt should not exceed 5 seconds. If the vehicle doesn't start, wait at least 30 seconds before trying again. This prevents overheating and protects both the jump starter and your vehicle's electrical system.
Can I use the JSP2000 to charge my phone or other devices?
Yes. The JSP2000 doubles as a 74Wh power bank with both a USB-A output and a USB-C input/output port, capable of charging smartphones, tablets and other USB devices. Simply connect your device via USB cable when the jump start clamp module is not in use.
How do I charge the JSP2000 itself?
Charge the unit using the included USB-C cable. It can also be charged via the included 12V car charger. For best battery health, avoid charging for more than a week continuously, as overcharging can shorten battery life over time. The recommended charging temperature is between 0°C and 40°C.
What do the different LED torch modes do, and how do I switch between them?
Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn the LED torch on. From there, short press the button to cycle through four modes: 50% work light, 100% work light, SOS, and strobe. Press and hold the power button again to turn the light off. Note: the strobe mode may cause seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy and should be used with care.
Can I use the JSP2000 in extreme heat or cold?
The JSP2000 operates between -10°C and 50°C. In very cold conditions below -20°C, allow the unit to warm up above -10°C before use, and ensure the unit is at least 75% charged, as cold temperatures reduce jump starting performance. Never attempt to jump start a frozen battery.
What protections does the JSP2000 have to prevent accidents or damage?
The JSP2000 includes seven built-in safety protections: short circuit protection, over-discharge protection, low voltage protection, over-temperature protection, reverse polarity protection, reverse charging protection, and automatic shutdown when not in use. These safeguards are designed to protect you, your vehicle, and the unit itself during every use.
